Manish Nayar,

Founder, Managing Partner

As Founder and Managing Partner, Manish has overseen the growth strategy that has allowed OYA to become a leading North American PV developer. Manish brings with him over 15 years of strategy, investment banking and manufacturing experience. 


Prior to founding OYA, Manish was with the Investment Banking group of Merrill Lynch & Co. where he focused on Corporate Finance and M&A within the Automotive and Heavy Equipment sectors. Before Merrill, he was the CEO of a mid-sized Tier 1 supplier of powertrain and transmission components to Automotive, Heavy Equipment and Military OEMs where he helped grow revenues 400% by taking the firm into new product categories and customer segments.  


Manish is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and holds a B.E.Sc in Computer Engineering and a B.Sc in Applied Mathematics from Western University, as well as an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management in Chicago and the London Business School in the U.K.


Michael Dilworth

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Dilworth brings with him a proven track record of leadership in solar development and financing and two decades of operating, financial and transactional experience. As CFO, he is responsible for all investor relationships and setting the financial direction of the company. With the executive team, Mr. Dilworth plays an active role in the company’s overall strategy, investment decisions and corporate development activities, including M&A and joint ventures.

Prior to joining OYA in 2016, Mr. Dilworth spent 6 years with SunEdison where, as COO of the C&I division, he was responsible for execution of $400M of projects annually. Previously, he led SunEdison’s Canada team as General Manager, responsible for all aspects of the business, and developed and financed over 250 MW of solar projects. Mr. Dilworth’s first role within SunEdison Canada was leading the Project Finance and Corporate Development team, where he was responsible for M&A and all capital sourcing. Prior to SunEdison, Mr. Dilworth spent a decade in New York working in investment banking with Citigroup, Lazard and Jefferies where he executed on over $15 billion of transactions. Mr. Dilworth’s prior experience also includes GE Energy Financial Services and HSBC where he had origination and underwriting responsibilities.

Mr. Dilworth has an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University.


Taymaz (TJ) Jahani,

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Jahani has a wealth of experience in the development and construction of renewable energy, complex institutional, commercial and industrial construction projects throughout North America. As COO, he is responsible to ensure all business functions within the firm are aligned to efficiently execute and deliver its pipeline of projects. With the executive team, Mr. Jahani plays an active role in the company’s overall strategy, operations, project execution, and business development activities, including the development and launching of new programs for new markets.  


Mr. Jahani has a proven track record in both B2B commercial, and B2C retail solar markets. Prior to joining OYA in 2016, Mr. Jahani co-founded and was President of Cricket Solar, where he developed and financed portfolios of residential and small commercial solar projects by creating a unique solar finance program for homeowners and businesses. Mr. Jahani also held the position of Director at Ozz Solar, where he was responsible for developing over 100MW of rooftop and ground mount solar across North America.  One of Mr. Jahani's notable achievements includes receiving the "Best of the Best" award from the Toronto Construction Association for his involvement with the Royal Conservatory of Music redevelopment project in 2009. He also has served as a voting board member of certain committees with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).


Mr. Jahani is a licensed Professional Engineer, has his B.E.Sc in Electrical Engineering from Ryerson University and his MBA from the Schulich School of Business. He is also a Certified LEED Ap, specializing in green building design.
